I tweeted about this yesterday but wanted to link to it here as well. Found via @postsecret, Alan Rickman's good-bye letter as Snape to all Harry Potter fans. As many of you know, Snape was one of my favourite characters and I think Alan Rickman is such a class act. Yeah, I might have cried a bit reading this the first time.

And, now I'm on such an HP kick! I think I'll indulge in some fic tonight. Maybe a couple of the classics. Anyone still in HP have recs?  What were your favourites?

In other news, dentist today. Ugh. Not even sure what we're doing. I just have a standing appointment for the next few weeks to get as much done before my free dental runs out. Whatever complaints I have about the job and my boss that was an amazing benefit.

Alright, I'm off to work. Full-out day - I reckon busy is good. Hope y'all have wonderful days! Catch you on the flip side. <3

i have my passport in hand!!!  wooo-hooo!  and, i promise that this is the last you lot will hear of it.

in other news, i'm out. there's trolls and stupidity and it's so fucking annoying. i'd only been in fandom a short time when HBP came out and that was a fantastic experience. seriously, no book release should be fraught with anxiety, sorrow and anger...unless it's concern for characters. i already have enough stress and concern going on for my slytherin lads.  draco and sev get all my attention. trolls get none.

i'll likely be done with the book on saturday and be back around. but my lj will remain spoiler free even then.  kishi, i'll even remain spoiler free in your presence. ;)

and, if i don't like DH, I'm just going to make [profile] willysunny's dream verse my personal canon.  willow's series was the first HP fic I read and I re-read last night.  i still love this fic to pieces.  it's so well crafted, full of vivid imagery, true humanity and the struggle to move forward when facing adversity and loss.  so, if you're looking for something to occupy your time until DH, may i suggest the dream verse series?

or perhaps you're looking for something shorter?  how about tip's love is stronger than justice?  whether HP or original, tip's writing always touches me. i've recced this story before but i return to it often since it resonates so with me. in an amazing five hundred words, tip weaves evocative imagery and gorgeous language into a character death that is heart-breaking but oh-so-right.

so, yeah, i've found personal canon i'd be happy with.  and, i'm sure that i'll continue to do so after the dust settles and fandom remakes itself.  but for now, i wish you all well.  have fun and all that stuff.  catch you lovelies on the flip side!
