1. I reluctantly allowed myself  to  be dragged along to a holiday party this weekend. It was both horrible and amusing at the same time. Don't ask me. I don't even know. But at one point, my mum was being silly-adorable and I looked to my right, ostensibly to exchange eye-rolls with my brother. Except he wasn't there. And I was hit with a bout of homesickness that still has me low. I've not been homesick all this time. Sure, I've missed place and things. I miss my house sometimes. Those kinds of things but I haven't felt homesick. Haven't felt this longing to be home. I'm not a fan of it. My brother's going to visit mid-January though so that will be great.

2. A good friend of mine and his wife just had the most darling babies, way too early. One is 3.1 lbs and the other is 2.14 lbs. As you can imagine, there's been several complications. Please do spare a thought for all of them, yeah?

3. [livejournal.com profile] kiribaby is in Florida visiting her parents. She and her mum will be visiting my mum and I tomorrow and Wednesday. This fills me with glee.

4. My boss is really stressed out about the next couple of weeks. She keeps calling me with tonnes of questions and random concerns whilst not really focusing on what she can do. For instance, she was in Miami yesterday and could have gone to Ikea and said she was going to but didn't. So, now, sometime between now and Saturday whilst I have guests and, oh, Christmas, I have to drive an hour and a half to Ikea. I wish she would focus on ways she can help and let me focus on my work. I do understand her anxiousness, especially since she's never done anything like this. But she's making me super anxious. All that projecting isn't good for me; it makes it difficult to focus on my whopping list of things to do. Also, I'm not complaining about the school finally getting to this point but. fuck,  like the worst timing ever. I can't believe our move-in day is currently scheduled for Saturday. So much for enjoying the season!

5. I'm really pleased with this week in football.  A Pats win (on the road!) combined with the Bills, Jets and Dolphins losing = great divisional stuff. Also, New Orleans finally lost yesterday. Now we just need the Colts to lose. Next week they  play the Jets, a team I hate just as much as the Colts. It feels so very wrong to want a Jets win.

6. My to-do list scares terrifies me.
