Okay, so for years, I've really enjoyed reading other people's holiday wish lists. It's been tremendous fun to grant wishes as I've been able to. However I've never felt comfortable posting my own. However, given the circumstances and the fall I've had, this seems the right year so...my holiday wish list:

1. Snail mail: pretty much of any kind. I absolutely love receiving things in the mail. Cards, notes, postcards, it would all be absolutely fantastic! It would seriously put a smile on my face for the day. I mean who doesn't love receiving mail? There's something really meaningful about the fact that someone has taken the time to write a note and post it. I love sending cards/notes and would be thrilled to get some back.

2. Fics/Drabbles and/or Art: I would adore a something written or drawn for me! As recently noted, my only real fandom is HP. But I would be down with Glee, specifically Kurt, stuff as well. In HP the main pairings I ship are H/D and Snarry but I really enjoy exploring many pairings and themes.

3. Magnets: I collect magnets, have for years. And last year, through really random circumstances, I lost most of my collection. Several friends have generously helped me start to rebuild but I'd love more. I'm annoying picky about this though. I prefer magnets with images/photographs of cities, places or art. Black and white is particularly cool and I like metallic ones as well.

4. Something handmade: I'm seriously not crafty and I have much admiration for those who are. So, anything handmade would be amazingly awesome.

5. Music: I think we all know how much I love music, yeah? Sharing music recommendations or mix cds would be great, especially if it's something that makes you think of me.

6. International Kindle: I know this one is ridiculous and a total pipe dream but I really want the international Kindle. I would make great use of it.

7. Treats: I like me some sweet stuff and with the recent financial problems, haven't been able to afford to indulge. I prefer chocolate but really any little bits of sweet treats would be muchly appreciated.

8. Random acts of kindness: Be kind to people. The world is struggling and we've all got our own problems to deal with, but sometimes a smile and a hello make a world of difference. Open the door for someone, offer to help them carry something, let someone ahead of you in line.

9. Thank a first responder: My brother is a cop and it constantly amazes me how much shite he gets. Yeah, I know there are corrupt cops and the such. But there's also people really fucking committed to the cause and they put their lives on the line every day. Whatever our personal belief, we have to respect that. Let first responders know how much their work is appreciated. It will make their day, I guarantee it.

10. Do something for yourself. So often we get caught up in the rush and stress of the holidays. Take a moment to breathe and remember what this season is about for you.

Please contact one of them and they'll give out my address at their discretion. If you have a wish list or think there's something I can fulfill, please let me know! I'd love to do so. ♥

eta: Oh! If you do numbers 8, 9 or 10, please share your story with me? I'd love to

Step One
* Make a post to your LJ with a list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, big or small, expensive or free, fandom-related or not. The important thing is, make sure these things are wishes you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact infom in your post.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
* Surf around your flist to see who has posted their list. And, this is the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another person's treasure. If you can fulfill a wish, do it.

* You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out. It's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and your might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
